This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and Shanghai, as an important bridge of friendship and co-operation between China and Australia, has been maintaining close contacts and co-operation with Australia.<\/section>\n
\n\"\u201c\u6295\u8d44\u4e0a\u6d77\u00b7\u5168\u7403\u884c\u201d\u5954\u8d74\u6fb3\u5927\u5229\u4e9a\uff0c2\u59292\u573a\u4f01\u4e1a\u5bb6\u5ea7\u8c08\u4f1a\u6210\u529f\u4e3e\u529e\"<\/span>Introducing the industrial development of Shanghai and the development of Australian enterprises in Shanghai, Zhang Wei, Deputy Director of the Municipal Investment Promotion Centre (MIPC), said he was pleased to see that more and more Australian enterprises are choosing Shanghai and finding new opportunities and directions in the city. For example, Australian retail giant Coles entered the Chinese market and settled in Jing’an District of Shanghai in 2019, conveying the concept of \u2018Australian\u2019 quality of life to Chinese consumers through the layout of online and offline channels such as e-commerce, wholesalers and supermarket chains. Shanghai has become an important growth pole for Coles in the global market. Ausnutria, a brand of the Australian Pharmaceuticals Group, has accelerated its layout by targeting the strategic opportunity of developing the life and health industry in Shanghai. Butler (Shanghai) Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of the world’s steel giant BlueScope Group, has been rooted in Shanghai since the 1990s and has become a benchmark in the field of steel-framed industrial buildings. There are many more such stories that continue to unfold.<\/p>\n

Currently, Shanghai is focusing on building a \u2018(2+2)+(3+6)+(4+5)\u2019 modernised industrial system, with broad development prospects and numerous investment opportunities. In addition, international exhibitions such as the World Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AI), the China International Industry Fair (CIIF) and the China International Import Expo (CIIF) will be held in Shanghai in the second half of the year, which will bring together the world’s top resources and elements. We sincerely invite more Australian enterprises to set their sights on Shanghai, locate more new projects, new businesses and new technologies in Shanghai, and share the opportunities of China’s large market, systematic opening up, and deepening international co-operation.<\/p>\n

Representatives of nearly 20 enterprises, including Azure Group, Scientia Clinical Research, The Silk Initiative and Platinum Gate, which are involved in the fields of auto parts, biomedicine, consumer retailing, legal consulting, trade and real estate, culture and entertainment, etc., made speeches one after another, introduced their business and expressed their views on the \u2018Invest in Shanghai\u2019 and the \u2018Invest in Shanghai\u2019 campaign. During the Sydney Symposium, the representative of AQL Holding enterprise mentioned that with a strong network of resources, AQL has successfully brought billions of dollars of investment into Australia and Australian products and services into China. It is reported that the enterprise is headquartered in Sydney and has a subsidiary in Shanghai, which provides consulting and investment, talent strategy and executive search, public relations and media, etc. Shanghai Sunny Commerce was established in January 2024, which is a Sino-foreign joint venture focusing on international business. Its main products include Australian wines, timber and logs, barley and health products. Representatives of the enterprise said that they will endeavour to build the Shanghai company into a platform to promote international exchanges and achieve win-win cooperation with more partners.<\/section>\n<\/section>\n

During the visit to Australia, the delegation visited key enterprises and organisations such as Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), Australia-China Business Council (ACBC), National Stock Exchange of Australia (NSE), ANCA Oncor Machine Tools and Minter Ellison Law Firm, etc., to learn about the investment intention and development strategy of the relevant units in Shanghai and to discuss further cooperation matters.<\/p>\n
